Network Case: Beklaagden krijgen tot 18 jaar cel

7 beklaagden in de Network Case kregen op 10 februari een uitspraak van de militaire rechtbank.

Dmitry Pchelintsev kreeg 18 years in een maximum-security strafkolonie.

Ilya Shakursky kreeg 16 years in een strafkolonie en een boete van 50,000 roebel. Volgens onderzoekers waren beiden organisatoren van een terroristische organisatie. Ze werden beiden door de FSB geëlektrocuteerd om tot bekentenissen te komen.

Maxim Ivankin kreeg 13 jaar in een maximum-security strafkolonie, Andrei Chernov kreeg 14 jaar, and Mikhail Kulkov, 10 jaar. Ze werden beschuldigd van lidmaatschap van een terroristische organisatie en poging tot verkoop van drugs.

Vasily Kuksov kreeg 9 years in een strafkolonie. Hij werd beschuldigd van lidmaatschap van een terroristische organisatie en illegaal wapenbezit.

Updates over Italiaanse gevangenen

We briefly summarize the latest updates on the situation of some anarchist prisoners in Italy.

On November 29, 2019 a search took place in the cell of the Sardinian anarchist Davide Delogu, imprisoned in the Rossano Calabro prison. At the same time, he was notified of the opening of an investigation for “association with the purpose of terrorism or subversion of the democratic order” (art. 270bis of Italian criminal code). Subsequently, he was returned some previously seized manuscripts. A week later, the guards informed him that a telephone had been found in the sewers of the prison and that they intended to charge him with its possession; Davide refused to have it x-rayed and undressed.

For the repressive operation “Prometeo” (arrests of May 21, 2019) Natascia and Beppe remains in the prisons of Piacenza and Pavia respectively. On December 2, 2019, Robert, accused in the same operation, was released from Bancali prison, in Sardinia, without any precautionary measures. The release came following the decision of the court of review after the cassation, in October, had annulled the order of pre-trial detention for lack of “serious indications of guilt”. The appeal in cassation had been requested for Robert and Beppe, but for the latter it was rejected. Recently, the public prosecutor in turn lodged an appeal in cassation opposing Robert’s release; the hearing has been set for February 4, 2020. The “Prometeo” investigation is still open. The censorship in the correspondence of Natascia has been removed.

We recall that the accusations in “Prometeo” operation are of “attack with the purpose of terrorism or subversion”, since they were held responsible for sending three bomb-packs arrived in June 2017 to prosecutors Rinaudo (prosecutor in several trials against the antagonist movement and anarchists) and Sparagna (prosecutor in the trial for the “Scripta Manent” operation) and to Santi Consolo, at the time director of the DAP (“Department of Penitentiary Administration”) in Rome.

Giuseppe Sciacca (arrested in Verona on November 26 with the main charge of “manufacturing, detention and transport of explosive material”, for sending in 2016 an explosive package to Ladisa, the company that then ran the canteen in the CPR, a prison for migrants, in Turin), had been placed in a punitive cell in Montorio prison (in Verona) since December 26, leading to a strong situation of isolation. This reprisal followed the fact that Peppe protested against the lack of authorization for interviews and phone calls and for not receiving parcels and money. A protest implemented through beating on bars and choirs that involved the second section where he was a prisoner, albeit confined in an isolated cell. At the same time he was denounced for “threats” and “damage” (to the cell) by the prison management. Later, in January, Peppe was transferred to the “S. Michele” prison in Alessandria.

Silvia, arrested on February 7, 2019, for “Scintilla” repressive operation and transferred to house arrest a few months ago, was released from house arrest and actually she only has the ban to stay the city of Turin. She was close to the deadline beyond which a precautionary custodial measure can no longer be maintained, so prosecutor Pedrotta decided to move in advance to prevent her from remaining completely free.

Domenico, who was banned from Turin because of the clashes happened on February 9, 2019, after the eviction of Asilo Ocupato and “Scintilla” operation, suffered a worsening of the measures with the obligation to sign, due to a violation of the previous statute of limitations. Having failed to show up to sign at the barracks, he was further arrested and is now in the Vallette prison in Turin.

Interview met anarchistisch gevangene Amadeu Casellas in Catalonië

Sinds juni 2018 zit anarchist Amadeu Casellas terug gevangen. Hij wordt ervan beschuldigd 300.000 euro gestolen te hebben in Sabadell, Catalonië.

Amadeu was in zijn huis aan het werk toen de arrestatie plaatsvond, bij het doorzoeken van z’n huis werd er niets gevonden en het slachtoffer herkende hem ook niet. De rechter nam deze feiten echter niet in acht en het verdict luidde opsluiting. Momenteel wordt hij vastgehouden in de Brians I gevangenis in Catalonië. Het volgend interview komt van de revolutionaire website La Haine.

I first send my solidarity and that of La Haine to you in this new prison in which you’ve been suffering for months. How do you feel?

Very good.

How was your arrest and this new accusation?

At about 5 am they blew open the door where I lived. I was sleeping. I heard the noise and at first thought it was a neighbor, did not even think it was for me. Hooded police entered, threw themselves on me. I was hurt in the fifth and sixth vertebrae and I had to be taken to Granollers hospital. I had to wear a collar for about 20 days and was prescribed an anti-inflammatory.

I was accused of armed robbery. Some 20 policemen checked, and found nothing.

After spending years in prison, you came out in 2010 and now, 9 years later, you’ve been taken back to prison. Have you seen any change in the prison reality between these days?

Yes, the conditions have fallen between 30 and 40 years ago and now, in all aspects. You cannot even maintain a hygienic value; they do not provide prisoners with any free products, so whoever cannot afford to buy it does not have access to them. Those that do not have hygiene are more likely to have scabies (which has already appeared in some prisons), tuberculosis, etc …

Also the food has gotten worse, is less in quality, and cold; menus are repetitive and also they cheat with the portions: for example, in the menu it indicates that there are 4 patties per person and they distribute 3, and so on with everything.

The commissary prices have doubled; if it was already expensive before, it is now much more; a liter of milk, which in a store costs about 60⁄70 cents, here costs € 1.60.

Not only that, the laundry machine is broken and there is no money to fix it. The other day, a light bulb melted and they had no money to change it at that time. Where is that money? Where is that percentage of profit they get from the commissary going?

You have participated in numerous protests in prison in the different stages that you have been imprisoned. How is the current struggle in prisons?

I tried to collect signatures on the subject of food, I got very few, about 20 and 30, people are afraid and some came to say that they pulled back from the protest…

In the years you were out of prison, you witnessed the fascistization (even more, if possible) of the state and the expansion of repression in large parts of society. How have you experienced this process?

It is also something that is experienced inside, even as some officials carry the flag.

From the outside, how can we help your situation to denounce injustice and fight for your freedom?

Go pestering the court of Instruction No. 3 of Sabadell and especially create a lot of publicity, especially with those releases that come out.

From your perspective as an anarchist, how do you describe the present political situation in the Spanish state?

Currently, there is no talk of politics, but of parties; people are leaving things as important as the social aspects (health, evictions, maintenance of forests to prevent fires, maintenance of infrastructure to prevent flooding) and are devoted only to discussing and accusing the opposing parties without contributing anything.

Finally, what message do you want to say to move all people struggling against repression and against prisons?

Much strength to you all, the struggle continues. Even though we are few, do not be discouraged; it is a matter of desire and not quantity. Often one person or few can move a crowd.

It is a struggle for social inequalities, against sexism, racism; if we do not fight, it will finish worse than in the Franco era.

“In oktober 2019 werd de prijs van een metroticket verhoogd in Chili, het was de druppel… Duizenden mensen kwamen op straat, tegen het neoliberalistische systeem dat hun dagelijks leven dicteert, tegen de onderdrukking van de staat, de privatisatie van commons, en de grondwet die nog stamt uit de dictatuur van Pinochet, en nooit veranderd werd.

We roepen op tot een week van solidariteit met de volksopstand in Chili, want het neoliberalisme heeft zich wereldwijd verspreid, want onderdrukking door de staat is wereldwijd verspreid, en solidariteit is ons sterkste wapen.

Solidariteitsactie voor Vangelis Stathopoulos aan de gevangenis van Larissa

On Sunday, December 15th a solidarity demo was held outside the prison of Larissa for anarchist Vangelis Stathopoulos, where our comrade is being held. During the gathering of dozens of comrades various texts were read out through the microphone sound system through which our comrade Vangelis also spoke [via phone] to those present.
Banners were hung, fireworks and smoke bombs were lit outside.
There was eye contact with both the comrade and the social prisoners who responded to the slogans by participating themselves, while flames lit prison windows and a black and red flag was waved from the comrade’s wing.
Words of anarchist comrade Vangelis Stathopoulos during the solidarity gathering outside the prisons of Larissa:
“In the full-scale attack by the regime, no matter what our position we must turn it into a point of struggle. Against the beatings by the cops, the evictions of the squatters, the cop State in the streets and the imprisonment of fighters, in everything that is done in the name of regularity we must pass to the counterattack and continue fighting for a better world. No matter how often we fall, we must rise again with greater anger and passion.  Solidarity is our weapon. ”

Internationale Solidariteitsweek Chileense Gevangenen

Oproep tot internationale steun voor de Chileense kameraden in de gevangenis.

Van 3 tot en met 9 februari vind in Gent een solidariteitsweek plaats met lezingen, optredens, volkskeukens,… Meer info hierover volgt binnenkort!

 

 

Text of the call:

After more than 80 days since the popular revolt started in Chile, the
struggle and social organising persists, with an unyielding conviction
to confront and break with this economic and power model which has
perpetuated inequalities, injustices and abuses for decades.  Without a
doubt, the revolt that is still in the air in Chile has meant an
inflection point, a point of no return in a long road of struggles, but
it has also brought heavy costs with it: Hundreds and hundreds of
prisoners of this territory. Every week this number increases. In a
clear phenomenon of massive arrests, the state looks to scare and
criminalise social protests. We talk about political prisoners of the
revolt because the massive arrests of those fighting after the explosion
of the revolt on the 18th of October responds to a political decision of
the state and not to technical or judiciary criteria, putting in
evidence the complicities of the different powers of the state, all with
the purpose of perpetuating the existing control model.

That is why we make this International call of solidarity with the
prisoners of the revolt, to expose the political condition of their
imprisonment and demand their immediate freedom. We extend this call and
appeal to the many initiatives and solidarity actions that may appear in
each territory.

Solidariteitsacties Nieuwjaar

Naar goede gewoonte vonden er tijdens de nacht van de jaarwisseling weer lawaai- en vuurwerk demo’s plaats bij gevangenissen over heel de wereld. Deze traditie probeert mensen aan de binnenkant van de muren te tonen dat ze niet alleen staan in hun strijd, dat er aan de buitenkant aan hun gedacht wordt, dat er actie ondernomen wordt.

“January 31th, 2019

Around 7:00 p.m., a group of people gathered in the woods on the outskirts of the Quebec City Detention Center to display their support for those detained. The institution receives prisoners who are serving sentences of less than two years and defendants awaiting trial. The establishment can accommodate more than 710 male prisoners, it is the second largest provincial detention establishment in Quebec, after the Bordeaux Prison. The prison also has a female section which has 56 regular places. At the time of the night visit, about 15 prisoners were in the outer courtyard when fireworks and flares were lit, offering them a bright message of Happy New Year. Enthusiastic wishes and screams were exchanged on both sides before the security tried to control the situation. The action concluded without arrests.”

Belgische kameraad opgepakt in Griekenland

Tijdens de avond van 5 december werd een Belg opgepakt in het noord-oosten van Athene en beschuldigd van “bezit van explosieven”. Dit gebeurde tijdens een zogezegd “willekeurige” identiteitscontrole. Doordat de kameraad opduikte in de politie-database en “verdachte” voorwerpen bij zich had werd hij meegenomen naar het politiebureau van Holargos. Zowel lokale politie als staatsveiligheid probeerden druk uit te oefenen maar zonder resultaat. Daarop nam de staatsveiligheid onze kameraad mee naar hun hoofdkwartier.

Om 4 u ‘s ochtends werd hij overgeplaatst naar de cellen van hetzelfde gebouw. Op datzelfde moment vonden huiszoekingen plaats bij de kameraad thuis, bij diens partner en bij de ouders van die partner. Geen enkele huizoeking leverde iets op. De partner werd meegenomen maar na 2u vrijgelaten.

Later die dag kwam onze kameraad voor de onderzoeksrechter die hem beschuldigde van “bezit van explosieven”, zoals werd voorgesteld door staatsveiligheid, verwijzend naar de spullen die hij bij zich had tijdens de arrestatie (aanmaakblokjes, kuisproduct en muggenspiralen).

7/12 verscheen de kameraad voor het gerecht, toen werd beslist de zitting uit te stellen tot 12/12. Na de zitting werd hij uit zijn voorhechtenis vrijgelaten.

Na de verklaring van 1 van de in totaal 4 agenten die als getuige optreden, besliste de rechter dat de zaak niet kon doorgaan zonder wetenschappelijk rapport van wat er precies bij de kameraad is gevonden tijdens het arrest. De zaak werd nogmaals uitgesteld tot 29/05/2020.

De gretigheid waarmee de media over deze zaak berichtgeven, de leugens van de flikken herhalen of er zelf nieuwe verzinnen verrast ons niets. Ze staan duidelijk ten dienste van de macht en het kapitaal en geven een platform aan de booschap en het imago van hun leiders. Dit gaat hand in hand met hoe snel en gretig de flikken deze boodschap aan de media doorspeelden. Op deze manier probeert de politiemacht hun repressieve tactieken tentoon te stellen om mogelijke vijanden van de staat te ontmoedigen.

De Griekse regering doet dit constant en deze praktijken werden sinds de nieuwe regering van juli vorig jaar enkel intensiever.  Ze voeren oorlog tegen migranten, anarchisten, krakers, dieven, drugsverslaafden en iedereen die ongewild of onbruikbaar is voor het systeem. Deze strijd wordt quasi overal geleverd maar de huidige Griekse regering drijft deze strijd zwaar op de spits

Toch blijven we in deze tijden wie we zijn, anarchisten, gewapend met onze ideologie en de wil om te vernielen wat onze vrijheid vernielt.

ABC Gent is back

Het is een tijdje stil geweest rond ABC in Gent maar geen nood, we zijn terug actief!

De gegevens van de oude website zijn we helaas verloren, daarom is er nu deze site waar je al het laatste nieuws op de voet kan volgen. Het heeft weinig zin de oude site letter voor letter over te typen, daarom vind je die terug onder de tab “Archief”.  Je kan daar alles lezen van 2017 en vroeger, ook vind je er de oude campagnes rond zaken/individuen terug.

In het AC vind je vanaf woensdag 08/01 de distro van ABC terug met shirts, patches, literatuur en meer. Ga er gerust zelf eens in snuisteren.

Nog op het programma voor 2020: Briefschrijfavonden! Het is belangrijk dat we onze kameraden die opgesloten zitten laten weten dat ze niet alleen zijn. Data worden tijdig meegedeeld!
